    Symon has extensive international finance and insurance services within the Asia-Pacific region and currently sits on the boards of BSP Financial Group (BFL.AX) and fellow FinTech’s Timelio and Solvar (SVR). Previous board positions include: StockCo Australia; Moses & Pop; and Relentless Resources. Symon’s senior executive experience includes: CEO & MD of FlexiGroup (FXL); CEO of Sovereign Assurance (NZ) Executive General Manager, Business & Private Banking at Commonwealth Bank (CBA); and President Director (CEO) at PT Bank Commonwealth – Indonesia.

    Symon brings to Mercurien his extensive connections and experience across banking & finance, insurance, and corporate governance.

    Daniel has over three decade’s experience in the insurance and Fintech sector. Prior to Mercurien Daniel has held senior executive positions as: Director/ National Product Manager Fleets - Insurance House Group; owner of Apex Insurance Brokers; Northern Region Manager – ACE Insurance Limited; Account Manager – Minet Insurance Brokers. Daniel is currently a non-executive director of Cloudfloat (fintech start-up) and has previously held directorships at FloodMap and IBNA.

    Daniel brings to Mercurien his insurance, fintech start-up, and corporate governance expertise. Daniel’s insights have been instrumental in the development of the Online Insurance Platform; his long-established broker network and personal energy drive the market development of our insurance arm.

    Andrew is a co-founder of Mercurien and has extensive analytical and operational experience across multiple industries including: banking, media, retail, financial planning, insurance, and fleet operations. Andrew has significant technical expertise in building data management systems, including algorithms, to improve business outcomes.

    Andrew brings to Mercurien his ability to problem-solve for customers and his technical expertise – system design, data integration, and analytics. He has overseen the build of Mercurien’s IT architecture, including the Online Insurance Platform and our proprietary risk algorithm - the analytics engine that drives our ability to generate strong safety and tax-optimisation outcomes for clients.

  • General Manager of Mercurien Insurance

    Peter has an extensive industry background with roles in large insurance companies, broking businesses and underwriting agencies.

    Commencing with GRE Insurance back in the mid-eighties, he has worked for leading insurers such as Zurich and QBE. Broking businesses such as OAMPS and Insurance House & insurance.com.au. Underwriting Agencies ProRisk, Armada & Safeguard International.

    Past roles include Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Brand & Business Development, Partner Relationship Management, Risk & Responsible Management, Compliance, Change Management, Business Process Engineering and involvement with several start-up business initiatives.

    Peter has also previously served as a director on the board of the Underwriting Agencies Council. He is an active advocate of Underwriting Agencies, their value to Brokers and their clients.

    Peter brings to Mercurien his intellect, critical thinking and problem-solving analysis. He has a genuine passion for business, coupled with an innate ability to gain consensus across organisations, enabling him to find the win-win for everyone.

  • GM of Fleet Operations

    Duncan has extensive international experience in financial markets; client liaison and risk management – designing and executing derivative hedge strategies to protect clients’ bottom-line performance. Post-graduate studies led to a career change; working in the cognitive neuroscience software sector with an emphasis on its application to road safety. Duncan is a regular ‘thought leadership’ contributor to the National Road Safety Partner Program (NRSPP) and the author of the Safe Driving chapter in IPWEA's 2019 Plant and Vehicle Management Manual (e-manual).

    Duncan brings to Mercurien his financial, client liaison, and road safety expertise. He has been instrumental in creating our Micro-Learning Video Coaching library content and the FaaS offering; concept development and pricing engine.

  • Senior Motor Underwriter

    Fiona has more than a decade’s insurance experience. Prior to Mercurien Fiona worked with Allianz, progressing to the position of Motor Underwriter; a position she held for 8-years. This, and previous roles as Assistant Motor Underwriter and Support Services Officer, has seen Fiona develop a solid grounding in underwriting, portfolio management and broker liaison.

    Fiona brings to Mercurien her extensive motor underwriting experience and her established broker network is valuable to our insurance arm’s market development activities. Fiona’s fastidious approach to underwriting underpins the robustness of our processes; supporting the development of our Online Insurance Platform. Her ability to problem-solve has made Mercurien’s transition from pure analytics to hands-on underwriting an achievable goal.
